Cooking

Don't think of me as a poor orphan who had a trouble childhood... It just happen that my parents separated when I was 8 and my mother had to work, so I had to at least be able to warm up something without burning it (or the house) quite young...

And yes, there was no microwave at the time (I AM that old), so I had to use a gas stove to do it.

It was probably enough to give me the taste to experiment with what I had in the fridge... After all, just heating something waiting for you is not very amusing...

Then, when I was a student (i.e. living in my own apartment and generally broke :-), I tried to find ways to accommodate the few things I had at home in an edible way...

And finally, when I started working and money was not a problem anymore, I just continued to do the same thing, just with much more choices in front of me...

The result is an eclectic cooking (from French recipes of course, to Indian, Chinese, etc.) and a bunch of friend who generally don't complain of the result :-)

So here we go, and don't hesitate to tell me if you don't understand something in the following recipes.

- Apple Pie

- Meringued Pear pie

- Chocolate truffles (new) (2/13/2006)
